How to prepare drip coffee for Uganda's Mananasi Jinja coffee crop
- First, grind 20 grams of coffee to a medium coarse degree , so that the grains are similar to coarse sand, as the proper grinding plays a big role in the quality of the distillation.
- Place the filter in a dripper (V60 or Chemex), then rinse it with hot water to remove any papery taste and also to heat the device, but make sure the water is not boiling at 85-90°C to avoid a bitter coffee taste.
- Place the ground coffee evenly into the filter, making sure it is well distributed.
- Pour about 40 ml of hot water in a circular motion over the ground coffee to allow the coffee to bloom well and help it absorb the water evenly, then let the coffee bloom for 30 seconds.
- After the first brewing, pour the remaining water in 3 batches of about 260 ml slowly and in a circular motion.
- Start from the center and move to the edges in a circular motion, being careful not to pour water directly onto the filter.
- Continue pouring until you reach 300 ml of total water. This process should take 2:30 to 3 minutes for a balanced extraction.
- After the distillation process is complete, remove the filter and serve the coffee in a clean cup, and enjoy the luxurious tropical coffee flavour that combines pineapple and mango with a balanced natural sweetness.
